曾其   Zeng, Qi    ~

Qi Zeng, courtesy name Wen-Zhen, a native of Linsen County, Fujian Province, China, graduated from the Fujian Provincial Teachers’ Skill Training Institute. After moving to Taiwan, Zeng was apprenticed to Xinyu Pu who founded the Cold Jade Pavilion, learning scriptures and essentials of calligraphy, and then converted to painting. Zeng is not only good at Chinese landscape painting and plum blossom ink painting, but also adroit in portraiture of elegant women. Zeng’s and Pu’s painting styles are equally fascinating in result though different in approach. The landscape paintings, portraits, and flower paintings by Zeng also stand out from the works by Pu’s other pupils. In 1992, Zeng served as a member of the National Palace Museum’s “Panel of Trustees for Pu’s Estate.” The artist held five solo exhibitions in Taiwan and made exhibition tours in Europe, the U.S. and Japan. Living in Taipei, Zeng is a member of the Art Society of China, the Art Association of Republic of China, the Jiachen Painting Association, and the Arts & Literary Association. The artist’s works have been collected by the National Museum of History and numerous international art institutions.
