陳伯義   Chen, Po-I   1972~

Born in Chiayi, 1972, Po-I Chen earned his Master’s degree from the Department of Hydraulic and Ocean Engineering, National Cheng Kung University in 1999, and then enrolled as a Ph.D. student in the same institute. His works have been displayed in several grand exhibitions, such as Into Society: Critical Realism in Taiwanese Photographic Arts since 1990 (Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts, 2012), Crossroads. Another Dimension - A Cross-Strait Four-Regions Artistic Exchange Project (He Xiangning Art Museum, 2013), Records of the Relocation of Hongmaogang Village (Kuando Museum of Fine Arts, 2013), Voices Travel: Conversation Between Two Harbors (Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts, 2014), and The Pioneers of Taiwanese Artists, 1971-1980 (National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, 2014). He was invited to exhibit at the 2013 Phnom Penh International Festival of Contemporary Photography and engaged in the art and cultural research project “Rebirth of Doom – Regional Exchange and Dialogue Between Taiwan and Macau” in 2015. He formerly taught photography and worked as a curator. He specializes in photography and ocean engineering and some of his photographic works have been purchased by the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts, Kiyosato Museum of Photographic Arts (Japan) and many other private institutions.
