鄧雪峰   Deng, Xue-Feng   1929~

Xue-Feng Deng was born in Anyue county, Sichuan province, China, in 1929. Having studied both Chinese painting and Western painting, he attaches great importance to sketching and has a penchant for painting Flowers-and-Birds, landscapes, and insects-and-fishes. His Monograph on Flowers illustrates and analyzes the composition of stems, leaves, flowers, pistils and brush movements. Deng is a master of semi-cursive script and cursive script, both embodying neat and elegant structures. According to Juan-Fu Fu, Deng’s paintings have three major characteristics: 1. Assimilating the essence of traditional ink painting and employing Western techniques; 2. Observing carefully every manifestation of nature and the vitality within it to nurture his inner richness; 3. Following no rigid method and formality and being able to freely express himself and blaze a new trail. After graduating from the Department of Fine Arts, Political Warfare Academy, Xue-Feng Deng served as the Dean of the Department of Fine Arts at the Political Warfare Cadres Academy, as art professor at the National School of Arts, and as judge for numerous art exhibitions. He currently holds the post of vice-chairman of the Chinese Art Association and the chairman of the Chinese Art Researching Association. Bestowed with prestigious honors, such as the Zhongshan Theory of Literary and Artistic Creation Award, the New Literary and Arts Golden Statue Award, and the Jinjue Award of The Art Society Of China, Deng has made great contributions to both art education and social education. He has attained excellent achievements in the field of art and his works have been well received by the academic community and the general public alike.
