楊英風   Yuyu Yang   1926~1997

Born in Yilan County, Taiwan, 1926, Yuyu Yang was admitted to Department of Sculpture, Tokyo University of the Arts in 1944 and learned from “the Father of Sculpture in Japan” Fumio Asakura; later, he studied in Department of Art, Beping Fu Jen Catholic University and Department of Fine Arts, National Taiwan Normal University. He even went to Italy for research and expanded his vision of art and cultural inclusiveness. His period of art-making goes from WWII to the end of 20th century. He create works with traditional and modern ideas and becomes the representative of modern sculpture in Taiwan after the war.
