朱銘   Ju, Ming   1938~

Born in Tongxiao, Miaoli, 1938, Ju, Ming was originally called Ju, Chuan-Tai. When he was 15 years old, he learned from the sculptor Lee, Chin-Chuan and thus started his career of sculpture. In 1969, he began to learn from Yang, Ying-Feng in the age of 31 and gradually turned himself from a carver into an artist. Although the creations from this period depicts the country side, it has gradually moved toward the development of modern style. He held an individual exhibition in Tokyo Central Art Museum in 1977, and also another in Paris Vendome Plaza-Paris Exhibition held by Paris City Government in the same year.
